Literal-ness !!
It is occasionally fascinating to watch the responses, in MS NG's, to a post
that suggests or recommends something quite specific. Responses rapidly appear that "read-into" the original post ALL SORTS of things that simply were not contained or even suggested in that post ! Then there are the responses that critisize the original postee for not having included a MASSIVE BULK of related background information - in the original post ! grin regards, Richard |

If a person does not supply a massive amount of related "bulk" with their
post, that forces others to read into the post what they feel is necessary. It may be correct or incorrect. If you, or others, can't compose a proper post don't expect a proper answer! -- Regards, Richard Urban aka Crusty (-: Old B@stard :-) If you knew as much as you thought you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! "read-into" posts is often necessary since the posters often leave out
essential information but still give enough for an educated guess. In these cases more information is sometimes requested while the responder makes the best guess. Often the guess is correct. If people did not read into a post, a large % of questions would never get an answer simply because the poster does not know exactly what is going on. If those terms are not satisfactory to anyone, this is not a good place to post. They may need to take their computer to a qualified tech. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ "RJK" wrote in message ...
