when I right-mouse-click on my
"Start" icon - I see options like.....
"Play in Winamp" and
"Compress and Email"
... and a bunch more .....

I know what put these entries there....
BUT
how can I remove them ????

In some applications, you have the option, e.g.
WINAMP: OptionsPreferencesSetupFile TypesDirectory Context Menus

If you don't have the option, then you may have to remove them from
the Registry (with extreme care) from keys like this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shel l\Winamp.Enqueue
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shel l\Winamp.Play
If you have never done any Registry editing, this is not advisable.

You can try third party applications like ContextEdit-PCMag:

I have not tried any for years and cannot recommend any.
