my monitor on my laptop went to have size. tried to reset and nothing
happened.can someone help me with this. Thank You

Hmm...
What do you mean half size? If it just cuts the screen off, with a black
void, then something may have happened to your LCD screen and it needs to be
replaced (not cheap). Or if the screen changed resolution to half size, then
go to the display properties and under settings, change it back to 1024x768
or whatever you had.

Try reinstalling the display drivers from the manufacturer of your laptop.
Check their web site to be sure that you have the latest drivers.

Be sure to read the documentation to see if they have a recommendation for
what resolution to use.
