TRL
Hi!
I uninstalled some applications a bit ago using
Add/Remove programs. Since then, when I try to start
various applications that I didn't uninstall (examples
include Adobe Acrobat and WinAmp), I get the error message:
"The WINMM.DLL file cannot start. Check the file to
determine the problem". ...

Motherboard w/ onboard Sound by
Brad
I have an older Compaq computer P3-550 with the sound
attached to the motherboard.
First,I would prefer to stick with the onboard sound so as
not to add a PCI card. The problem is that when I did a
clean install of WIN98SE I lost the drivers for the
onboard sound. Can someone point me in a...

Sounds don't play by
Kate
For some odd reason, my computer's sound just.... died.
The driver for the sound card is installed and updated,
the speakers are turned on and plugged in properly, and
the Volume controls have mysteriously stopped working. In
fact, they won't even run. I've been through the
troubleshoot that...

The sound on my computer stopped working a few days ago--
booted up the computer one day, some crap got corrupted
(but fixed) and I've finally decided to do something about it.
I know the speakers work; I've tested them with my CD
player. The driver for the sound card is still there, and I
have...

Recording in MP3 format by
oatmealstout
I have Windows 98 SE, and I would like to record (rip) some of my CD's as MP3 files. My CD-RW burner came with Nero software, and I have been using that to burn CD's using MP3 files I downloaded from the Internet. However, it is a really early version of Nero (1.something); it will burn MP3 files...

Media is Only Black and White by
Rusty
I originally posted this message in the Windows Media
Newsgroup, but I think it is more than a Windows Media
Player problem.
When I start a video clip, it starts out in color for less
than one second. Then it only plays in black and white.
This happens with all video types. It even happens...
