Returning to Win98 or maybe 95 on old machine/ mobile broadband andW98 by poachedeggs
I have a 1999 Fujitsu with 512 mb upper limit for RAM and a 1.3 ghz CPU. I have spent time and money stretching it with a bigger hard drive, more USB ports, a graphics card and doubling the RAM from 256 mb, and also by trying many Linux distros (including XFCE versions), along with XP, W2K and...

Is it possible to intall 98 on an Intel 945 chipset motherboard? by Peter Johnson
I support some applications that run on Win98 and I want to get a new computer. However, Intel has apparently abandoned supporting Win98 on its new chipsets. Has anyone installed 98 on an Intel 945 motherboard? Are there problems. I would eventually dual boot with XP Thanks Pete

Hi, it's me AGAIN. Sigh. Everything is just great but I am getting the following error (not a BIG deal - all the tray icons disappear but everything works unless I try to start a new program - and it used to happen with the previous install as well...). Also, I am PRETTY sure the culprit is...

Making XP desktop look like Win98 by [email protected]
I have used Win98 since 98. I really didn't care to upgrade, but it seems there's just too much stuff that dont work in 98 anymore. I just bought another (used) computer with XP installed, and will keep my Win98 computer as it is. That way I can use either one. The old one was too slow for XP...

posts about Terhune by thanatoid
FWIW, even though I though Gary was a jerk and we had a serious and permanent falling out within a few days of our first thread, I find the current jokes and general discussion of his "status" in poor taste. No one knows where he is or how he is and I think you should drop the subject. I for...

Does .mp4 - or any other video format - have a text field (comment, not subtitle)? If so, what can edit it? by J. P. Gilliver (John)[_2_]
I like the comment field in the .jpg image format; if viewing an image in IrfanView, I just type I then C, and I can add comment text, that then actually becomes part of the file, thus surviving any renaming, zipping, even emailing. (I use it a lot in listing who's who in group photographs ,...
