Windows 98 is now able to Drink alcohol by
Last-Call
Windows 98 is now 21 years old. That means it's an ADULT and is able to
drink in all 50 states.
If you are still running Win98, put a bottle of whisky inside the case.

W98 DOS on a FAT32 partition - booting causes a reboot. by
R.Wieser
Hello all,
I just created a 5 GByte bootable FAT32 partition and formatted it using the
/s option (to transfer the systemfiles to it). However, when I than restart
there just is a delay of about 10 seconds, after which it reboots.
The odd thing is that booting from a FAT16 thumbdrive and than...

PCMCIA Card to USB 1 Adapter by
[email protected]
Hi,
I bought a Win95 laptop around 1996. This laptop does NOT have
a USB port. Years later, I installed Win98se to replace Win95.
It has a FDD (floppy disk drive) and CD drive. Also has two PCMCIA card
slots. The FDD no longer "works". I searched for an external FDD that
connects to...

Where are the desktop icon settings stored in 98se? by
[email protected]
Windows 98se
I have a lot of icons on my desktop. Every once and awhile they get all
jumbled up, and it takes me nearly an hour to straighten them up. I have
a specific order I have them so I can find them quickly. I have never
figured how they get messed up and probably never will....
What...

I posted this days ago, as part of another thread, and never got any

I mentioned removing K-Meleon, which was my default browser for years,
but no longer works properly with the HTTPS sites.
But now it seems I have a bigger problem. Firefox is the default and
only browser in use now. This...

Cant switch default browser by
[email protected]
I'm running Win98se. For many years my default browser was K-Meleon, and
I also had the highest (usable in 98) version of Firefox installed. (FF
version 3.x).
K-Meleon no longer works on almost any website, and the upgrades for it
are only for XP and higher.
I want to switch and make Firefox the...

New HDD, has corrupted Data - AGAIN by
[email protected]
Ok, As most of you know, I had a partition go bad on one of my drives
and I lost much of the data on it, because I did not have a current
backup. I got rid of that hard drive, even after a re-format showed it
to be usable and not have bad sectors.
This is an old IBM brand computer from about 2001....

Firefox version 2 and 3 goes into OFFLINE MODE by

Running Win98se and I am stuck with using Firefox 2.x or 3.x. (with

6, that has never worked well. I just stick with ver 3.x.
This has driven me nuts for years. I never have understood why Firefox
