cab files with 98se by
Bill Cunningham
I have a CD copy of 98se and it doesn't boot. Are there any cabinet
files that would contain mscdec.exe and some generic ms-dos driver? I'm not
quite sure how to boot this CD since it's not bootable. It's just a copy. I
know I will need io.sys and msdos.sys and autoexec.bat too atleast maybe...

Windows 98 and Security Patches by
Roger Fink
What's the standard precedure now for dealing with the security issues below
(and others that will inevitably follow) for users of Windows 98? The
described flaws are in IE and WMP. Can any of the available Microsoft

check or scan _without_ retesting sectors? by
J. P. Gilliver (John)
ISTR the old DOS-mode surface scan utility - the one that used character
mode, and drew a screenful of blocks, with each block representing a
sector or a number of sectors (it told you how many), with some of them
shown as B if it contained any bad sectors - did not, by default at
least, retest...

I don't know how much info is necessary, so I'll begin with what I hope a
simple Q. What is the best way to access and/or transfer data from an old
computer to a new one?
When I got the new unit, I thought I could simply connect the two units with
a USB line and that would be that.
Then I...
