Fatal Exception

First I have tested my computer there is no spy ware on it. When I turn off my computer a blue screen with this turns up: Windows A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:CO2A27A8 in VXDVWIN 32(05) 000012DO. Press any key blah blah. This has been happening since I have downloaded patches. Any help on how to fix would be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows 98 with Internet Explorer 6.

I recently received a 'fatal exception' message from my
COMPAQ regarding my sound card: ...fatal exception @
0028:C1527918 in VXD VIP(01)+00004308.

How do I resolve my problem? My computer's sound card is
connected to my motherboard.

GG reports 677 mentionings of "VXD VIP(01)". Better look carefully
through them for something sensible, & report back with further
questions.

I too am a Compaq. I have no "Vip.vxd".

I do have a "Vip.386", but I believe it to be a Microsoft thing. Also,
it doesn't relate to the sound card. It is mentioned in the Registry
about 6 times & appears to be updated by two Windows Updates.
