When my computer starts to boot it asks for a password, I
type in the correct passwoed and the computer goes no
further. I cannot get into my Bios to remove the password
and I cannot get into windows 98. Can anyone help me with
this problems. All I need to do is get into my Bios.

You can clear your BIOS password by resetting the BIOS. The procedure is
specific to each type of motherboard, but usually involves switching off,
moving a jumper, switching on the off again, moving the jumper back, and
re-starting. Your motherboard manual should have the full dtails. If you
are not familiar with BIOS setup you might like to find a BIOS settings
reporting tool so you can be sure to get everything back to how it was
(except the password setting) after the reset.

Another way, especially if you don't have jumpers for it, is to remove
your CMOS battery for a while (I'd say 10 minutes or so) and then put it
back in. But if you had any settings in there other than default settings
it might be fun trying to get them set back right. I guess if you can't
get into BIOS at all, there's no way you can view those settings
beforehand.

I haven't had much luck with *recovering* lost CMOS passwords, but this utility is
worth a shot for re-setting the CMOS:
CMOSPwd:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/cmospwd.html

It is a command-line tool (read the associated readme text file), and has a kill
switch (/k) that will wipe out the password and the cmos settings, without the need
to open the case and reset a jumper. It can run from within Windows, or from a boot
floppy. Being a command-line tool, you run it with switches, from a DOS prompt.
After re-setting, the password should be gone, and you must enter the BIOS setup,
set the date and time, then load "setup defaults", rather than "BIOS defaults".

It doesn't sound like he can get that far even... it's asking for the
password before he can boot up to *anythying*.
