MY CD ROM HAS STOPPED WORKING. WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR?

A new one? :)

Seriously though, we need a little more information to diagnose
anything......
Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager there - what does it have to say about the CD-ROM ??
If there's more than one entry for it, remove ALL instances, and reboot to
Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall required drivers
While there, check for error-flagged entries, and Remove ALL of them if any
exist - reboot....

My CD drive has not worked either. Upon startup, the drive
flashes continuously and reamins flashing throughout. I
can click on the drive icon, and it seems to identify the
drive with a letter, however, I am unable to load the cd
contents. A mesaage comes up that states the "Please
insert a disk into drive"

Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL CD/DVD devices
Remove ALL error-flagged devices
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall drivers - see if that helps
