I recently received a Sound Blaster Audigy card as gift
for my birthday. It's been two weeks of research now, and
I cannot find a driver that dosn't provoke a system hault
from Window ME. Can anyone help me?

Sure...
If your computer was previously using on-board sound, then that chipset
must be turned off in the BIOS, and part of the motherboard drivers
uninstalled (ie: removed from ControlPanel/System/DeviceManager... this
includes MIDI drivers and probably Gameport drivers as well), first.
Same with a previous soundcard, you should remove all the drivers for
that card, shutdown and remove the card.
Then insert the new card into a PCI slot and crank it over... Windows
will ask you for a driverset... browse through the CD until you find a
relevant set (I don't think Audigy would have non-WDM drivers but
they're an option). Or just cancel through and then install from the CD
or your download of most recent drivers.
