I had the same problem, replaced drive and still nothing ,
any ideas

Patty
Try this
Boot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL DVD/CD drives
Remove ALL HD's
Remove ALL IDE Master Controllers
Remove ALL error-flagged devices
Remove ALL entries in the 'Other Devices' branch - if present
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall required drivers.
