I have an intermittent problem with a bjc-4200 on win me, sometimes it will
stop printing half way and windows will display a lpt write error.
I have heard of problem under win95 involving the version of the file
lpt.vxd on the system. The solution was to install the lpt.vxd on the cdrom.
as win me is newer and the file is not in a separate directory on the cd
(like win95) I guess this is not the problem?
I have tested the printer and cable on another pc (win 98), seems to work
fine.
I have now setup the printer port to ECP, installed canons newest drivers
(win me always installs its version can't stop it) .. seems to be fine for
the time being
any other ideas ?
when i find a loop back plug i will test the printer port
