The USB Mouse on my Me PC has stopped working. I've
tried re-installing, but no joy. Any ideas?

Try it on another machine and/or try another mouse on yours to see if
it's perhaps a loose wire or something.

Sorry, I should have said that I'd already tried this.
The mouse from the ME PC works fine on my XP PC, and the
XP PC mouse doesn't work on the ME PC. I've also tried
in various USB ports.

Has the ME machine mysteriously lost USB support? It's not uncommon after a
failed install of a new peipheral. Often removing USB root controllers in
safe mode and rebooting fixes this. If not, the files are in BASE2.CAB in
the install files, re-extracting them should fix it. HTH

Other USB devices (eg Printer) seem to be OK, so not sure
it's USB support. Is this worth trying anyway?

No, I'm off track there. Maybe removoving the mouse driver in safe mode and
restarting?

You could try using the adapter (if you have one) to put it in the PS2
port (?)

Do you have other USB devices ?

Rick
not a big fan of USB (yet)

I don't have a PS/2 adaptor. I have other USB devices
attached to the PC which seem to be working fine.

Check your BIOS; some may have particular settings for USB keyboards/mice.

Check through Programs/Accessories/SystemTools/SystemInfo to see if you
have an IRQ or Port conflict.

Remove *all* mouse drivers from DeviceManager (if there's more than one)
and reboot.
