cd will not read disks

my cd drive isnt reading my disks....i checked to see if
the computer was erading the drive and the disks r brand
new...please help

First off.......try a different brand. I had a problem with Kodak
Gold.....the ones that are silver or blue on the recording surface are the
best for me.

Wait a minute.....do you mean 'playing pre-recorded CD's'?? Or writing
them. If it is the latter, check your CD Writer book and see which ones it
recommends. Verbatim and Sony work here.
