View Full Version : Cannot Download Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1

I have tried countless times to download this version and
have not been able to. When I attempt to download and
install, a window pops up stating "a previous installation
is pending that requires a reboot. Window will now
close". I have no idea what this refers to and cannot
identify the installation referred to. I have also
rebooted numerous times hoping to get beyond the "previous
installation"---whatever it is, I am prohibited from
upgrading to this new version.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

Is this the error message :

Windows Update Setup

A previous program installation was never completed. You need to restart
your computer to complete that installation before running Internet
Explorer Setup. Setup will now close.

restart your computer to complete that installation before running
