My USB will not work with any type of external storage
device. I get errors like "cannot find drivers" and it is
looking for the file USBNTMAP.SYS, etc. The problem
appears to be addressed in #299264, but my computer
manufacturer (Toshiba) did not send me a WindowsMe disk
with my computer. When I contacted them, they said they
did not have any to send.

Without the WindowsMe disk, I am dead in the water. I
have the receipts to prove everything was lawfully
purchased.

Can anyone help me?

Take a look at your Windows\Options\Install (or CAB) folder and look for
BASE2.CAB. You will find a copy of USBNTMAP.SYS in there which you will
need to extract. Use
the MSCONFIG.EXE extraction utility.
