Windows ME Safe Mode

I have Windows Me installed on my computer and it keeps
starting in Safe Mode. I have pressed F8 during startup
and selected normal mode but it still goes into safe
mode. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Are you sure that it is in Safe Mode? It *may* just be the wrong resolution
screen.

Does it say 'Safe Mode' in each corner of the display?

If you are sure that it is in Safe Mode, what happens when you shut-down and
re-boot?

Does it automatically run Scandisk?
Does it then attempt to start in Normal Mode?

Have you got the 'Enable Startup Menu' box set in msconfig? Run
msconfig.exe and on the General tab, select Advanced and check the 'Enable
Startup Menu' box.

What have you already tried?
