What is contained in the directories and files in
C:\windows\temp\? It seems as though the directories
contain double of programs and files stored elsewhere, but
I/m not sure. I would like to delete all of the
subdirectories in Windows\temp\ but I'm afraid I destroy
something I need. Do those files exist elsewhere as I
think, and can I delete the subdirectories safely? I
really need the space.

Thanks.

Temp = Temporary. The contents of the windows\temp file is just that,
temporary files often placed there during the course of an application or
driver install or update. This includes any sub folders. All can be safely
deleted although before doing so it is ESSENTIAL to first reboot just in case
you have an install under way and there are some files in the temp folder
required to complete the install after rebooting.
