usb device driver problem

my usb ant working i tried to go to safe mode and delete
the usb and then restart to let windows install the right
drivers but it could not find a file needed "usbd.sys"its
says it needs th windows me disk to continue but i dont
have it.
it says under device status
"the KTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not
load the device driver (code 2)"
what can i do? do i need a new driver for this?

This problem is usually the result of having installed incorrect drivers for
the usb controller. Fro more details see MS KB 299264 - "USB Devices Do Not
Work Correctly and You Receive "Could Not Load the Device Driver" Error
Message" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=299264) which explains how to
replace your current uhcd.sys, usbhub.sys and usbd.sys files with new copies
from the Win Me cab set.
