View Full Version : Lost "Sharing..." in context menu for Favorites folder

July 11th 04, 02:37 AM
"Sharing..." is still in right click menu and sharing works for other
'special' or shell folders (my documents, [C] drive, etc.)

The shared name for the Favorites folder *shows* in the Network Neighborhood
list of shared folders, but clicking on it gives a "not accessible" type
message. Also clicking on the "+" in the tree just makes the + disappear
(indicating that the second computer doesn't see that there are subfolders
in it's the "shared" view of Favorites)

I can share a subfolder of favorites.

This reminds me of Me's inability to show "Search" when right click on a few
folders such as Favorites. But that (mis)behavior has never changed and I
*have* shared Favorites previously.
--------
Basics:
2 pcs, win ME, basic retail NAT router.
-------
PS. I am *not* trying to share a single folder of Favorites between two
computers (as often asked in Google news searches). I simply want to see a
folder on the other machine, but somehow the second pc has lost its 'view'
of one of the shell folders.

I've done loads of Googles sharing, shared, shell, folders, context, menu,
... word forms... -XP -2000, etc... and not found the same complaint.
