I have a Windows Me machine which was at almost a stand
still from viruses and spyware. After much pain all have
been cleaned up and the machine appears very happy with
one exception. I can't use any browser with a dial up
connection.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled DUN, I make a
connection happily to several different ISPs. I can open
an MS DOS window and ping any machine on the web
happily. I can't use IE, says it can't find the pages.
Just for kicks downloaded Opera, same problem.

Trying to avoid a complete WinMe install, is there a
repair install of some sort ? Figuring I'd have options
I put the OS disk in but it wanted to just crusise
through and install in again which I am trying to avoid.

Suggestions ? any are appreciated.

run the LSPFix from here
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

see if that helps
