M issing taskbar and start menu

Hi,
Taskbar and Start have disappeared in a black hole. Would
appreciate help to retrieve them. Using Windows ME. Many
thanks.

You don't say whether your Windows key works or whether you can launch any
programs from the desktop icons, however try booting into Safe Mode (Ctrl or
F8 keys at bootup) and let it continue to the Help Centre. Halfway down the
Help page you will see the 'System Restore' option. Select it and roll-back
to the last time the task bar and Start button was showing.

Hopefully, that will get it working again - if not, come back with the
results and someone should be able to help further.
