icons

The icons on my system are black. On the desktop the words
are fine but the icons are black. Please help

What you are seeing is probably the result of a corrupt icon cache.

Look for and delete the file SHELLICONCACHE )It has no extension). This file,
in the windows folder, is a hidden file so to see it when using Explorer it is
first essential to enable the viewing of such files (Explorer | Tools | Folder
Options | View and check the button "Show hidden files and folders" in the
section "Hidden files and folders" and also UNcheck "Hide protected operating
system files"). Reboot and the icon cache will automatically be rebuilt and
hopefully fix the problem. If it doesn't the size of the cache possibly needs
to be increased.
