Hi,

For some reason I can no longer use my toolbar QUICK
LAUNCH. Every time I click on the toolbar view Quick
Launch I get an ERROR MESSAGE: "Cannot Create Toolbar."
My "Quick Launch" folder is still listed
in "C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\" so I don't know what's wrong.

Also, for some reason certain items from my Start-
Up "Extended" menu has disappeared. Can anyone tell me how
to fix these things?

Thanks!

As long as these happened 'for no apparent reason' and you haven't tried to
'fix' them AND it only occurred quite recently, then try running System
Restore and roll-back to a date before it happened and with a bit of luck,
your PC should work properly again.

Mart, it's funny you should suggest I do that because for
some reason I CANNOT DO A SYSTEM RESTORE. And before you
tell me to check the "system folder," I should tell you
that I did make sure the "disable system restore" box was
UNCHECKED.

Any other suggestions? LOL
Thanks!

OK, - you *might* just get away with the other 'trick' :-

Start | Run and type 'scanreg /restore' (no quotes and note the space) then
OK.

If successful, you can then start to worry why SR doesn't work <g>

Hi again Mart,

I tried to roll back the system registry but that made it
worse so I put it back to today's date. I then did a
system restore and it worked BUT the Quick Launch is still
not working.

Something strange is going here.....Do you have any other
idea what it can be? I did notice that the my "folder"
icon was shaded in "C:\Windows\Application
Data\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\" Could that be the
problem and if yes, how do I fix it?

Thanks again!

OK Shani, you've lost me a little here -

Do you mean the "Quick Launch" folder. If so, right click and select
properties and see if it's Hidden. Mine has all boxes unchecked - if that
helps.

But more importantly, are there any (shortcut) icons in the folder?

If so, do any/all work?

Mart
