Thumbnail display option in all my Windows (ME) folders
has disappeared; only Large, Small icons, List, Details -
no Thumbnails. Also right-click in space no longer offers
New >Folder. [I installed a NVidia Display driver update
recently, its troublesome, but not sure if relevant.]

I intend trying the solution to folder view problems
offered by Mike M. on May 13 - repair IE using Add/Remove
programs.

My question is: how to do it?
My Add/Remove lists includes:
- Internet Explorer Q831167
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SPI and Internet Tools
- Windows Millenium Edition Q823559 Update

Which should I choose to fix? And if I need first to
uninstall an Update do I delete the full item as listed
above?
Many thanks for anyone's assistance.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SPI and Internet Tools

> My question is: how to do it?

Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SPI and Internet Tools in Add/Remove
Programs, and then from the menu that opens select Repair.

One usually has to first uninstall the IE Q????? entry as often there is no
entry for IE6 (or IE6 SP1) in Add/Remove Programs and uninstalling the Q????
update will restore the IE6 entry.

In this case Q831167 isn't a cumulative update for IE6 SP1 and shouldn't I
think need to be uninstalled. If however you had installed one or more of the
Cumulative Updates for IE6 SP1 released since IE6 SP1 you would first have to
uninstall this cumulative update before being able to repair IE6. The latest
of these cumulative updates being Q832894 released in February.
