View Full Version : Hotmail Slow

Hi,

When I log onto Hotmail it seems fine (other than the fact
that it looks different but im assuming that's Microsofts
doing) but when I click on Log Off it seems like it takes
forever for it to log me out. That wasn't the case a
little while ago. I use Norton AV2004, also Ad Aware and
Spybot.. it did remove some things but still can't figure
out why I'm having this problem. At first thought it
might be just Hotmail but now actually worried it could be
my system.. thanks for any words of wisdom.

With NAV2004 installed, it's a surprise that your system boots at all - let
alone that you have a small problem lie Hotmail being slow.

Hi Noel,

Thanks for the reply. I've been running NAV2004 for a
while now and I never encountered probs with Hotmail
before. And as far as I remember I can't say I've
downloaded any Updates that all of a sudden triggered any
probs with my Hotmail, let alone Internet use? I read the
links you left me.. if I'm doing something incorrect with
my postings let me know please, I am not that computer
saavy at all so your help would be appreciated.. thanks!

If you read the posts in these groups you'll find the following .......

1) the most common cause of problems (other than user error or spyware) in
ME is Norton Software. Such problems include system slowdowns (to the point
where you have to breathe twice between keystrokes), Broken System Restore
archives, Inability to either install, upgrade or Uninstall Norton Software
(or any other software for that matter) to a (very rare thankfully) total
system crash requiring a clean reinstall.
2) The links in my sig are always there - in the hope that they educate the
uninformed. There was nothing personally intended in their inclusion, in my
response - for a first post yours was pretty good!

Having had my daily rant against all things Norton, let's see what we can do
about fixing your problems.
I would seriously consider disabling Norton briefly and retrying Hotmail -
see if it does make the difference. If so, then think about your use of
alternatives.
