I'm having a problem with my mouse clicking "through" windows. By this, I
mean that when I click the "X" to shut down a program or window, the mouse
clicks right on through to the window underneath and shuts down the
underlying window also.

Is this a mouse problem, a settings problem, or a browser/program problem?
Is there a way to troubleshoot it?

Thanks

Sounds like you may have a false double-click there - which could be
hardware (try another mouse) or software (reboot to Safe Mode, Open Device
Manager, Remove the mouse drivers, and reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will
reinstall the drivers)
