View Full Version : Trying to Dial-Up when booting

I used to use a dial in service (Worldnet), but now use
cable internet - no longer need to dial.
For some reason, every time I boot my laptop, it wants
to dial into Worldnet, and wants me to select Connect or
Cancel. I had deleted the DUN connection for Worldnet a
long time ago. Also, my Internet Properties - Connections
is set to never dial - and even if I turn that on,
Worldnet is not an option (because it had been deleted).
How can I get it to stop?
Thanks!

You may have a custom program placed in your Startup by Worldnet.

Start/Run/msconfig.exe/Startup : do you see anything there that looks
like it might be a connect program?

Also, ControlPanel/AddRemove/Programs/InstallUninstall : is Worldcom
still hanging around in there?

Thanks, Rick -
Worldnet didn't install anything - just used DUN.
There doesn't appear to be anything in the msconfig
startup.
