I am trying to update my internet explorer, but I get an
error message:

Cannot make directory entry (error #52)

Source File C:/WINDOWS/TEMP/1XP002.TMP/Iesetup.inf

Destination C:/WINDOWS/INF/Iesetup.001=Iesetup.inf

Could someone please give me some advice on how to fix
this problem.

Thanks

How many files do you have in the Windows\Inf folder? Is it possible that it
is full (65K files). If so try deleting what may be many thousands of zero
byte oem*.inf files.

Since, by default, the Windows\Inf folder is hidden, you will have to enable
the viewing such folders if using Explorer. To do so use Tools | Folder
Options | View and check "Show hidden files and folders" and UNcheck "Hide
protected operating system files".
