When using windows explorer, or my computer, if I open any
of the files in a directory the contents are displayed
with large icons. I want to change the default setting so
they all open in 'details'. What do I do?

First change a view to the way you like it - then click on Tools|Folder
Options
Click on the View tab, and then the 'View All folders like Current folder'
button - click OK.

Set up Explorer to display a folder in the way you prefer and then click Tools
| Folder Options | View and click the button Apply to All Folders in the
section labelled "Folder views" then Apply and OK out.
