Ddhelp has caused an error in GDI.EXE

Maybe this will attract someones attention!

I reinstalled WINme. Then I went to Microsoft's Critical
Updates. The first update found installed ok.The message
said it had to reboot the machine. That went fine. I went
back online to get next Microsoft Update. This update
installed but gave me this error after installation:

"Ddhelp has caused an error in GDI.EXE"

HELP!!!!!! I thought all of my errors would go away with
a clean slate of WINme. Boo Hoo.

Ddhelp.exe is part of Direct Draw and these errors are often associated with
Video/Graphics Adapter issues.
