Thursday Morn

ME was working on this computer.

F-disked the drive and installed XP. No installation errors.

Would not boot.

Thought the board may be too old.
(Shuttle Spacewalker HOT-591p, via chipset, newest bios)

So, I then format the disk and install ME. No installation errors.

( Only video card, ram, floppy, harddrive. )
( All on board peripherals are disabled: Com, parr, usb. )
( ACPI is enabled. )

I changed the video card. The card was found, the drivers installed, the
monitor was found.

Reboot: it gets to the desktop and poops:
Blue screen
System halted.
Windows protection error

It does this in safe mode and in normal mode.

Thoughts?

Wrong video drivers.

Which video card did you use for the XP installation? Did ME boot OK before
you changed the card?

Thank you for your response.

'Tis a GeForce2 MX400 64m AGP card.

The video drivers were auto loaded by the XP install and the ME install.

Neither would boot.

I changed the card to an old pci card. ME found the card, loaded drivers,
found the monitor and then wanted to reboot.

And it does not boot to normal, and does not boot to safe mode.

Just like with the other video card.
