I have several times tried to upgrade to IE6 with SP 1 but
failed everytime.
Downloaded it from Microsoft web side and also tried from
a PC World disk.
If set up to about 93% and then fails.
Any HELP???

Thanks

Hi Frank

I had the same problem. Then I tried this: Down load IE6
SP1 to your desktop. Then before installing I had closed
all running programs except EXPLORER & SYSTRAY.
(Control/ALT/Delete to close all other programs. I had no
problems installing and it works fine.

Go to Mirosoft again and get it from there if you can, if
not try ZDNET.

What's the EXACT error message?
Are you running Norton software?
Try installing in Safe Mode

Hello Jo,

Thanks for that info but it didn,t do the trick.
Every time the last message is:
" Installing advanced authoring" and then it stops and
displays the window to close all running programs etc.

I did this several times and even went to ZDNET but to no
avail.

If I remember right you helped once before when I had
trouble in running Scandisk and Defrag. That went ok.

What now??

Is it important to have that Upgrade.
I have Outlook Express 6 and the Browser is 5.5.

Regards

Frank
