When starting up Windows Me,the following message
appears: C:/windows/temp/net/netjs. How do I get this
annoyance off of my Computer? In simple terms please.
Thank you

By using your preferred antivirus application equipped with a current updated
set of antiviral signatures and also checking your system for unwanted
parasites.

It appears that you may have a parasite of some sort on your PC that was
installed when the net.js script was first run however the error message would
seem to indicate that the net.js file at least is no longer present or perhaps
even deleted by your antivirus application before it could be launched.

You can prevent the message you see each time you boot your system by opening
MSConfig (Start, Run, enter MSConfig in the box and then click OK), open the
Startup tab and look for an entry that is trying to launch the script net.js
and uncheck. Close MSConfig, reboot and the message should have gone.

In addition to carrying out what are hopefully normal antivirus scans I would
recommend that if you have not already done you download yourself a copy of
the free Ad-Aware 6.0 from Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and also SpyBot
(http://www.safer-networking.org/) and scan your system for and remove any
unwanted parasites, adware, spyware, foistware and any other junk that might
be hiding on your PC.
