mouse sleeps in safe mode

I have been unable to get my mouse to work in safe mode. I
have to tab through the menus and then reboot. Any
suggestions? Dell Dimension 8100 w/ Win ME

If you are using a USB mouse then this could be the problem. You can solve
this if your bios has the option to enable usb legacy support.
