Hello dear dear people....

My girlfriend's mothers PC runs Windows ME and it had
trouble botting into life the other day. It started then
went to Safe Mode and so I reset all the system defaults
in start up mode and now the PC starts but all that
appears on the monitor is " NO SIGNAL "

All leads are in place, I need help to find out how to re-
build it or something......

Your thoughts and assistance much appreciated.

NO SIGNAL means just that, that the monitor is seeing no signal. Do you see
the bios check and POST screens from the system when you first switch on the
PC? Until you get the monitor to see these there is little point in
continuing as you won't see any output from the operating system. Whilst
getting this going again I would suggest you boot from a floppy rather than
booting and crashing the system each time requiring repeated scandisks.

Check your connections again. For example check that you haven't bent one of
the pins in the D15 connector from the monitor when you plugged it into the
monitor socket on the system.
