I get a number of messages from friends or legitimate
business but OE automatically takes the message, puts into
an attachment & then blocks with the following "OE removed
access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail"
How do I stop OE from removing my access to my mail???
I looked thru all the help topics - none address this
issue. Frankly, I don't mind having helpful options
available to software but I want to control them!!!

Open the Tools menu, Options, Security tab and uncheck the part that says
"Do not open attachments that could be potentially harmful, etc. etc." or
something to that nature.
Heirloom, old and that ought to do it

Gerald, try this:

Double click on the paper clip attachment icon
Click on "Forward" (Don't fill anything in, you're not going to forward it
to anybody.)
Double click on "Attach" envelope
Choose "Open it" (Only if you're certain it's safe to open.)

This procedure is tiresome if your attachment has been forwarded from one
person to another many times, but it's not permanent and still allows OE to
stop suspicious messages with attachments.
