Hi. When I click on Start/Settings/Control Panel I get an
Error msg 'Explorer has caused an error in SLCCAPPL.CPL.
Try re-starting your computer.' When I click on the close
box everything runs ok. Can anybody tell me how to get rid
of this Annoying pop-up ?

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove what may be
a variant of the CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:

Thanks for the info Noel. I ran CWShredder and it removed
assorted nasties, but I still get the same pop-up when I
access Control Panel.
regards
Mike

Such errors are often caused by spyware - download AdAware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.
