Everytime I start up my computer, the following error
message comes up:

"WJView error
Could not execute main
The system could not find the file specified"

does anybody know what this means and how to fix it?
Thanks,
Joe B.

To use MSConfig. Start | Run, enter MSConfig in the box and click OK.
Open
the Startup tab and look for and uncheck any entry that in the right hand
column either refers to WJView or a file with a js extension.

What has happened is that you have removed the target of the WJView
command,
perhaps because it was a parasite, viral or perhaps even just an unwanted
utility but didn't remove the entry used to launch the file each time you
boot
into Win Me. For example it could be something as innocuous as
MyPointsPointAltert or something much nastier.

Unless the reference in MSConfig | Startup is to something you recognise
as
being harmless and no longer required this might be a good time to give
your
PC a thorough health check.

When did you last check your system for viruses, worms and trojans using
your
preferred anti virus application equipped with a current and updated set
of
viral signatures? Also have you checked your system for parasites and
other
malware much of which can cause significant problems when running your
system?
Do you use a firewall to prevent unwanted outside intrusion onto your
system?

If you have not already done so I would recommend you download yourself a
copy
of the free Ad-Aware from Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and also SpyBot S & D
(http://www.safer-networking.org/) and scan your system for and remove any
unwanted parasites, adware, spyware, foistware and any other junk that
might
be hiding on your PC.
