ISTSVC error ???

Shortly after starting my computer and beginning to use it
I get the following message:

"Istsvc has caused an error in ISTSVC.EXE. Istsve will
now close.

If you continue to experience problems try restarting your
computer."

What causes this? Is it a concern? Can I fix it?

You have scanned your computer for viruses, trojans, spyware, adware and
other unwanted 'guests' haven't you? No? Thought not :-(
Your first step is to go here for details of the parasite on your computer:

Next, get Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/
Install and run it making sure you download the latest reference file before
doing a full system scan.
That should fix it.
