I have some virus files in the Restore folder. I have
instructions on how to delete the files but I first need
to "turn off system restore". Problem is my computer
won't let me turn off system restore. Apparently I need
some type of system administrator authority. I don;t know
how to override this. Is there anyway to override or give
myself the proper authority level?

Jim -
Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip
http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/CWShredder.exe
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip

Then try System Restore again.
