I have a user who has forgotten his password to his
windows desk top. The same user name is used to attach to
our network without a problem but he can't change his
windows pass word to the same as his network password
without the forgotten password. Is there any way to reset
his windows password without knowing the original password
he used.

it might be as easy as deleting the password file which i
think is a pwl file. at least, that's what we would do
in 98/95. maybe different in me. here's a link that
might be helpful.

The passwords are stored in a *.pwl file in the windows folder, the filename
will be the login name.
Rename the *.pwl to *.pw0 and then he will be prompted for a new password
when logging in and a new *.pwl file will be created.
Regards Mike.
