I havent been able to get any updates since April, always
comes up no critical updates available, and my windows is
running very sluggish. Is there something I am missing?

there havent been any updates in quite some time to my
knowlege. If your computer is a little sluggish i suggest
using the disc cleanup program from the start menu in
programs/accessories/system tools

WinME isn't succeptible to the latest spate of bugs so no critical updates.

Running DiskCleanup, Scandisk and Defrag will speed things up a little:
Start/Programs/Accessories/SystemTools

Let some pest-control programs look for and squish any unwelcome guests:
-free for personal use antivirus tool:

-free for personal use spyware/adware detection & removal tools:

Taking a look at all the things you've got autoloading when Windows
starts and trimming it back will speed things up alot:

Place to start is Start/Programs/Startup folder.
Next is Start/Run/msconfig.exe/Startup

In each case don't chop the program off at the knees unless absolutely
necessary, better to do it through the program's Options/Preferences

If there's no noticeable improvement after these, we can look at some
system settings. Please post back either way when you've gone through
this stuff.
