ME will not finish loading

All of a sudden my computer will not start up. When it
gets to the WINDOWS ME screen it just freezes and will go
no farther. This just happen the other day after I shut
down the computer then tried to start it back up the next
day. My computer is out of warranty so no help from HP.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Paul White

If you have a WinME boot-floppy, crank it up and type...

A:\> SCANREG /FIX

then remove the floppy and boot into Windows... if still no luck then
try it again as

A:\> SCANREG /RESTORE

and pick a date before the troubles started (if available).
