Win Min

When I shut down my computer, after a couple of minutes I
get a message that Win Min is not repsonding. I how do I
get rid of this.

Yes my IE was hijacked and I am slowly fixing that.

what did you mean IE was hijacked? what are some of the
signs of this is ncase one of the ways to know that it was
hijacked

One is that your home page changes......to anything from a search one to
possibly a porn one. Not nice if you have young children. You start
getting oddball things happening......or a lot of popups.....

Instead of waiting to recognize the signs, why not download AdAware 6 from
Lavasoft for starters.....that will catch the spyware. But there are
special programs....HiJack This, CWS, etc. that will remove the hijacker
from the registry.

Do a Google search for "Win Min".......I just did and you may have to use
Hijack This to get rid of it.......I found several forums that were
discussing it.

I have googled, and askedgeeves. Both searched gave some
info, but nothing that fixed this problem. I have run ad
ware 6 and hijack, over all they found and fixed lots. My
computer has not run this well in a long time. But the win
min error is comes up.

After rebooting if I open IE, the homepage is
Your-Searcher.com. By using hajack I can get rid of this
site until the next reboot.

Boot to Safe Mode and with nothing else running run HiJack This and post the
log file back to this thread. You appear to be missing something if Win Min
keeps returning even though disabled.

However before doing so in case this is another variant of CoolWebSearch
download and run merijn's CWShredder which targets the CoolWebSearch parasite.
