There could be a space in the target address somewhere before the @. Other
inappropriate characters cause a message to bounce but don't prevent the
message being sent to the postoffice.
What's tricky about this is that if you try to send the message and get the
error message, you will find that all subsequent messages produce the same
message. This is because the failed message gets put in the Outbox. OE
apparently looks at and maybe tries to send the contents of the Outbox
first. It runs into the problem message and then refuses to send anything
else. The subsequent messages pile up in the Outbox until the problem is
fixed. Try moving the first item out of your outbox and sending one of the
subsequent posts.

There could also be an error in the identity and/or server configuration.

Has the email been working? Did you do anything to the machine prior to the
errors beginning? Does this happen on every email? Be sure to verify the
validity of the email address. If you get the error again, click Alt-d to
get the error message details and post them back here.

it worked fine when we left nj.
we arrived in fl and got a hotel with a ethernet jack.
i plugged in and everything works fine execpt i cant send.
i receive with no problem.
i can use web mail with no problem.
the exact error is " an unknown error has occured. subject
account earthlink.net server protocol smtp port 25 secure
(ssl) no error number ox800cccob."
there is no space in the target address.
also there is only one in the outbox.

thanks

I don't know.........I can only guess that you would be limited to web based
email unless you set your machine up for that specific ISP.????
