i have just a static(air)noise coming from my speakers. i
have wiped and rebuilt my sytem, i had a problem with the
speakers before that. i have now updated my windows in the
control panel and it fixed my speakers for a while, but
now they are back to just a static or air sound.

to unplug the speakers for 3 minutes. it didnt work for
me. please help i havnt been able to figure this out for a
year.

If you don't have onboard sound, try reseating your sound card and double
check all connections. If that fails, look here:
