View Full Version : No Network Logon at Startup

Hi all...

....(OP this in win ME Networking NG - but haven't gotten much response -
hoping someone here might have experienced this or have a fix - thanks)...

Every time Windows starts, I get the Windows logon instead of the Network
logon screen.

In order to access my home network, I have to Start>Log Off repeatedly until
it finally gives me the Network Logon dialog box.

Settings in System>Network "Primary Network Logon" is set to "Client for
Microsoft Networks" and I've removed and reinstalled the "Client for
Microsoft Networks" client under configuration about 785 times and it STILL
gives me the Windows Family Logon whenever I start the computer. PLUS I've
just fdisked and reformatted so there can't be alot of junk floating around
screwing things up at random (or maybe there can be-who knows?...) - anyhow:

Does anyone know what's causing this or have a fix for it?? It's driving me
nuts!!

Many thanks in advance,
SuZ

You might find this KB article helpful:-
"How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me Logon Prompt at
Startup"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;152104

When it comes to setting up again, then if you no longer want a password,
enter a name but do not enter any password at all, then click OK.
DO NOT "cancel".

HTH and good luck

Mart
