I just got an e-mail that says it's from security @
microsoft. It says there is a virus that has already
affected more than 500,000 computers and wants me to
download a patch. Did anyone else get an e-mail like this?

It's a VIRUS - do NOT use the attachment!!!
millions of these go out every day - if it's the first you've seen, it won't
be the last.

Microsoft NEVER send out unsolicited emails - and NEVER send out patches by
email

Hi Sam,
There have been alot of these phoney bologna emails "supposedly" coming from Microsoft.
In OE6 I would check the email content (right click, then properties, message source) and sometimes it tells me that there were viruses attached, and were discarded before it got to my inbox. These emails mainly try to lure you in with some kind of security update..It's a jungle out there and we have to have the arsenal to defend and conquer...
If you want an update, go straight to the source, "Windows Update"

P.S. I just recently recieved emails "supposedly from the Postmaster" stating my mail was undeliverable, when I sent no such mail. M aybe these people should be put on a one way plane ride to Iraq.
